The project is a 58,840 SF, 2-story school for grades Kindergarten through 12, serving approximately 720 students. The program includes classrooms, a library and technology center, administration, cafeteria, gymnasium, art, music and science classrooms, and a performance space with seating for 500.
With a science and arts based curriculum, the design team worked closely with the client to develop a project that illustrates both the technical and the aesthetic aspects of sustainable design. The vision statement recently developed for the school is “A unique expression of the connection between people and nature”. The building and its systems will be highlighted as a learning tool for students, staff and visitors.
