Prichard Art Gallery

Working closely with the University of Idaho gallery director, Patano Studio helped the institution envision a space within a space to showcase wide ranging artists work involving a variety of media from sculpture to video. Some interesting challenges were the ability to design a temporary wall system that could be constructed and deconstructed, with the help of graduate students, encompassing one large volume divided by an existing mezzanine, maintain egress and store the disassembled materials on site for future use. We proposed a system of painted aluminum angles attached to threaded inserts located in the existing floor, walls and ceiling surfaces with an opaque vinyl billboard sheathing for the wall surface. The resulting installation creates a white box, within the gallery, for installation and presentation flexibility.
