Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Gate C3 Holdroom Addition

Gate C3 Holdroom –
Due to increasing airline activity at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Gate C3 was recently reconfigured to accommodate larger 737 aircraft. The existing C3 gate is undersized and waiting passengers overflow into the C Concourse circulation creating conflict. The Patano Studio Team worked with the stakeholders and the Project Manager to design a 1,500 SF addition to the C Concourse to adequately serve the increased number of passengers at the gate. Working with the airports new ‘Light and Bright” mantra, the team designed a contiguous space with a large window wall looking out to the Ramp and highlighted with a large central skylight, acoustic wood paneling and perimeter soffit and seating for over 155 passengers. Additionally the project will need to extend the egress corridor from the C1 building. Gate C3 will need to be operational during construction, as will adjacent baggage transfer input belts.
